Amorphic BI provides deeper integration of Amorphic with AWS Quicksight

How to add a user to Amorphic BI?​

User with Owner access on the Amorphic BI App can add a user to the BI App. The user needs to be an existing Amorphic user.

Follow below steps to add a new user to Amorphic BI application:

  1. Select BI from the Apps by clicking the eye icon in options of Apps list.
  2. Go to AUTHORIZED USERS tab and click on the Provide app access button.
  3. Select an existing Amorphic User and choose the Quicksight Access Type (ADMIN/EDITOR/READER) and click on Import button.
Note
  • The user registration process is asynchronous and user would be notified via email and push notification on successful registration and user would be visible under Authorized Users section after successful registration.
  • For ADMIN and AUTHOR Users, an Athena data source is created as part of registration process which can be used to access the user's datasets.

Open Quickight Console​

Once the user is successfully registered to Amorphic BI, the user can click on the goto BI App button and the user will be redirected to Quicksight console.

Note
  • The console session is valid for 12 Hours.
  • The registered ADMIN or AUTHOR users can use the athena datasource created as part of user registration process to query and access their datasets.

Sync Dashboards​

Registered users can sync their Amorphic Quickight Dashboards and Dashboards that they have access to in Quicksight by clicking on the Sync Dashboards button.

  • Dashboards syncing is asynchronous and user will be notified via email on process completion.

Register Quickight User

Update IAM Role​

To update dataset access for registered user in Amorphic BI, User can click on the Update IAM Role button which will update the permissions on the custom IAM Role associated with registered user.

Delete User from Amorphic BI​

Owners of the Amorphic BI application have the option to delete any registered user from Amorphic BI. Follow the below steps to delete a user from Amorphic BI:

  1. Select BI from the Apps by clicking the eye icon in options of Apps list.
  2. Go to AUTHORIZED USERS tab and click on the Remove User button besides the user that needs to be removed.
  3. Select the delete action, can be one of the following:
    • delete resources - will delete any resources for which the user is sole owner.
    • transfer resources - will transfer any resources for which the user is sole owner to the new user specified(user needs to be a registered AmorphicBI User).
  4. Click on confirm.
note

If delete action is not specified, the resources for which the user is the sole owner will be orphaned.

Note
  • The user deletion process is asynchronous and user would be notified via email and push notification on successful deletion and user would be removed from Authorized Users section after successful deletion.
  • The Athena data source created as part of user registration process will also be deleted.
