Platform Metrics

The Platform Metrics dashboard provides detailed analytics on platform usage, performance indicators with comprehensive visualizations and reporting capabilities.

Manual Metrics Synchronization

Users can manually trigger platform metrics collection:

  1. Navigate to the Usage & Observability section
  2. Click the Sync Metrics button in the Platform Metrics dashboard
  3. The system will collect fresh metrics data in the background
  4. Updated metrics will be available within a few minutes
Scheduled Sync

Platform metrics are automatically synchronized daily at midnight. Manual sync is useful for getting the most up-to-date information or after significant platform changes.

Usage Analytics and Metrics

The Platform Metrics dashboard provides analytics on platform usage patterns and system activity data with the following visualizations:

  • User and Roles Metrics: Display total count of users and roles in the Amorphic platform
  • Athena Queries by Status: Pie chart showing distribution of query execution results (failed vs succeeded)
  • Datalabs by type: Pie chart showing distribution of sagemaker notebook and sagemaker studio in Amorphic console
  • Datasets by Type: Pie charts displaying breakdown of datasets categorized by their types and formats
  • ETL Jobs by Type: Pie chart showing distribution of ETL jobs across different job types and categories

Platform Metrics Dashboard

The Platform Metrics dashboard displays comprehensive analytics and visualizations for platform performance monitoring:

  • Datasources by Type: Bar chart displaying count of different data source types across the platform
  • Domains Per Tenant: Bar chart showing the distribution of domains organized by tenant

Platform Metrics Dashboard

Key Feature: User Filtering

The Platform Metrics dashboard includes user filtering capability that allows viewing platform usage patterns for specific users:

  • Individual User Analysis: Filter all metrics and visualizations to show data for a specific user
  • User-Specific Visualizations: All pie charts and bar charts can be filtered to display metrics for a selected user, showing their Athena queries, dataset usage, ETL jobs, and datalab activity
  • Monitoring & Compliance: Track user productivity and monitor activities for governance purposes

This filtering capability helps understand user behavior and optimize platform resources based on actual usage patterns.
