Introduction to Trace

Welcome to Trace, a comprehensive observability and compliance solution that provides complete visibility into data platform usage, performance, and security. Trace enables organizations to monitor activity, maintain compliance standards, and ensure data operations run smoothly and securely.

What is Trace?

Trace is a powerful application within Amorphic that helps organizations manage two critical aspects of the data platform:

  • Security & Compliance: Manage compliance standards, track security findings, and maintain organizational security posture with automated monitoring and reporting
  • Usage & Observability: Track platform usage metrics and analyze activity patterns across the Amorphic environment

How to Add Users to Trace

Trace owners can grant access to team members who already have Amorphic accounts. This allows organizations to collaborate on compliance monitoring and usage analytics.

Follow these steps to grant Trace access to a team member:

Add User

  1. Click on Apps from the Amorphic Explore menu
  2. Select the Trace application from the list of apps
  3. Navigate to the Authorized Users tab and click the + Provide Access button
  4. Select the user you want to add and click the Import button

How to Remove a User's Trace Access

Remove User Trace owners can remove access when team members no longer need to use Trace. Follow these steps:

  1. Choose the Trace application from the Apps list
  2. Navigate to the Authorized Users tab
  3. Click on Remove Access in the Actions column and confirm by clicking the Remove Access button
