Notification Settings

Notification Settings in Amorphic help you get fine-grain control on notification preferences apart from the global notification setting.

Note

User must be subscribed to Alert Preferences in Profile Settings > Profile to receive emails based on your preferred notification settings.

Select the particular checkbox to set up notifications for required functions as shown in the above gif. The same steps apply to all the below options.

Jobs

Below are the notification settings available for job resources:

Setting	Description
Update	This option sends a notification to the user when there is a change in ETL Job metadata
Delete	A notification will be sent if the ETL job is deleted.
ScriptUpdate	This option sends a notification to the user when there is a change in the ETL Job script.
AuthUpdate	A notification will be sent if there is any change in the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked.
ExecutionsSuccess	A notification will be sent when the job execution is successful.
ExecutionsError	A notification will be sent when the job execution is failed.

Datasets

Below are the notification settings available for dataset resources:

Setting	Description
Update	This option sends a notification to the user when there is a change in dataset metadata
Delete	A notification will be sent if the dataset is deleted.
DataUpdate	A notification will be sent if there is any change to the data in the dataset.
DataError	This option sends a notification to user if there is any error during the dataload to the dataset.
AuthUpdate	Whenever there is any change to the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked a notification will be sent.

Insights

Below are the notification settings available for insight resources:

Setting	Description
Update	This option sends a notification to the user when there is a change in insight metadata
Delete	A notification will be sent if the insight is deleted.
AuthUpdate	A notification will be sent if there is any change in the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked.

Data Pipelines

Below are the notification settings available for Data Pipelines resources:

Setting	Description
Update	A notification will be sent if the data pipelines is updated.
Delete	A notification will be sent if the data pipelines is deleted.
AuthUpdate	A notification will be sent if there is any change in the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked.
NodeExecutionFailure	A notification will be sent when a node belonging to a data pipeline fails.

Datasources

Below are the notification settings available for Data sources resources:

Setting	Description
Update	This option sends a notification to the user when there is a change in datasource metadata
Delete	A notification will be sent if the datasource is deleted.
AuthUpdate	Whenever there is any change to the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked a notification will be sent.

Datasource Flows

Below are the notification settings available for datasource flows:

Setting	Description
DataflowCreate	A notification will be sent if the flow is created.
DataflowDelete	A notification will be sent if the flow is deleted.
DataflowUpdate	A notification will be sent if any changes are made to the flow.
DataflowSuccess	A notification will be sent if the flow executed successfully.
DataflowError	A notification will be sent if the flow execution failed or is running with errors.

Code Repository

Below are the notification settings available for code repository:

Setting	Description
Update	A notification will be sent if the code repo is updated.
Delete	A notification will be sent if the code repo is deleted.
AuthUpdate	A notification will be sent if there is any change in the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked.

Datalabs

Below are the notification settings available for datalabs:

Setting	Description
Update	A notification will be sent if the data labs is updated.
Delete	A notification will be sent if the data labs is deleted.
AuthUpdate	A notification will be sent if there is any change in the authorization grants like Users added/removed, Tag access granted/revoked.
UpdateResources	Receive notifications for resource updates.
Start	Receive notifications for start of the datalab resources.
Stop	Receive notifications for stop of the datalab resources.

Email notifications for custom emails

Note

• Sending emails to custom email addresses in RFC 822 format (abc.xyz@def.co.uk) is not supported.
• Support for these email addresses will be provided in the next release.

Provides ability to send emails to users, including custom email addresses at the resource level. In order to do this, please follow the steps stated below:

1. Navigate through the available resources and choose the specific resource.
2. Locate the action menu at the top right of the screen and click on the 'Notification Settings' option.
3. Inside the 'Notification Settings' menu, users have the option to enable 'Email' or 'Push' notifications for their linked email address, found under the 'Username' tab.
4. Users can also select the 'Add an email id' option under the 'Others' tab. Here, users can enter the desired email address in the 'Send Notification to' text field.
5. Specify the notification settings for the selected resource by choosing from the available options in the 'Notify for' drop-down menu for the provided email address. These settings determine the type of notifications that will be sent to the custom email addresses provided by the user.

In summary, users have the flexibility to configure email notifications for their linked email address and they can opt in to send certain notifications to custom email addresses, at the resource level. Configuration of these notification settings can be done, ensuring that the appropriate notifications are delivered for the chosen resource.
